Ayahuasca Diet

Ayahuasca Diet Guidelines

Preparing for Ayahuasca is a sacred journey, and following the Ayahuasca diet is a key step in ensuring a safe and meaningful experience. This gentle yet powerful process helps your body, mind, and soul align with the medicine’s energy. It also reflects your respect, intention, and readiness to work with Ayahuasca.

The Ayahuasca diet follows ancient Amazonian traditions, guided by wisdom passed down through generations. These simple, thoughtful guidelines protect your well-being and strengthen your bond with the medicine. Begin the diet at least four weeks before your retreat and continue for at least two weeks after your final ceremony to allow the healing to fully integrate.

Why the Ayahuasca Diet is Important

The Ayahuasca diet is more than physical preparation—it’s a spiritual and energetic commitment. By avoiding certain substances and behaviors, you:

  • Reduce the likelihood of struggling during ceremonies.

  • Strengthen your connection with the medicine.

  • Demonstrate respect and dedication to the healing process.

Continuing the Ayahuasca diet after your retreat helps preserve the energetic work accomplished, supporting long-term healing and transformation.

  • Medications and Supplements: Inform your facilitators about all medications. Some may conflict with Ayahuasca.

  • Menstruation: Notify your facilitators if you will be menstruating during the retreat.

  • Pregnancy: Ayahuasca is not safe for pregnant individuals.
