What is Hapé Medicine
Hapé is typically made from several Amazonian plants, but the core ingredient in most Hapé snuffs is Nicotiana rustica, a type of Amazonian tobacco also known as mapacho. This tobacco is much stronger than N. tabacum, tobacco found in cigarettes, and is commonly used in tribal rituals.
In addition to tobacco, Hapé often includes alkaline ashes from other plants, such as cinnamon, tonka bean, clover, banana peel, or mint. However, many shamans keep the exact ingredients of their rapé a secret. Hapé is a sacred, deeply healing, powerful, cleansing, and miraculous medicine that is produced by a labor-intensive process using a variety of Amazonian medicinal plants, seeds, trees, leaves, and other sacred ingredients by indigenous tribes from different South American countries, especially Brazil and Peru.
Traditionally, Hapé is applied using a tool made of wood, bamboo, or bone, which is blown gradually into both nostrils. Rapé can also be applied using a V-shaped tool called a Kuripe, with one end inserted into the mouth and the other end into the nostril.
It is important to note that Rapé is not snorted, as it does not affect the brain in the same way and does not decalcify the pineal gland. Therefore, it is essential to have the right applicators, as well as the right disposition, time, and place for its use.

How to take Hapé
Indigenous tribes consider every medicinal plant as a sacrament and a prayer or intention. We recommend using Hapé, a sacred medicine, in an environment that honors the plant for its teaching and healing abilities. Incense, crystals, tribal music, and nature create a perfect space for meditative and reflective Hapé use.
It is also essential to focus your mind and set an intention before using Hapé. Sit in silence and aim your mind before getting started. This intention can be focused on insights, physical healing, energetic healing, or anything that requires healing or clarity in your life. Once you have an intention, ask the universe or the spirit world to guide you through the process.
